Why Alif

Every detail considered, before you ask

We work with established Yangtze cruise operators and Chongqing ground teams, then layer in the details that matter to Muslim travellers — so you can focus on the scenery.

Halal, by design

Where an itinerary specifies 清真 (halal) meals, we keep that commitment in writing — and where it doesn't, we arrange it before you board.

A fleet for every budget

From a land-based city taster to a five-night cruise with onboard theatre, choose the depth of journey that suits your time and budget.

Local, on the ground

Our Chongqing team handles pier transfers, gorge excursions and language — so first-time visitors to China feel looked after.

The Journeys

Three ways to sail the Yangtze

Every itinerary below is drawn from our operating partners' real day-by-day plans — including exactly where halal (清真) meals are already confirmed, and where our team steps in to arrange them. Open each itinerary for the full schedule.

ا HALAL VERIFIED
The Promise

Confirmed where it's written. Arranged where it isn't.

"Halal-friendly" means different things to different agencies. Here's exactly what it means on an Alif itinerary — and how we keep it that way, from your first enquiry to your last meal onboard.

Confirmed in writing

Our Yangtze Discovery Cruise and Chongqing city journeys already specify halal (清真) meals on the operator's own itinerary — every day, every meal, in writing before you travel.

Arranged where needed

On The Grand Voyage, halal dining isn't pre-printed on the ship's menu — so our team coordinates it directly with the cruise operator ahead of your sailing, and confirms the arrangement with you before you book.

JAKIM-aligned standards

Where we source and verify halal arrangements ourselves, we hold them to standards aligned with JAKIM guidelines — the benchmark many Muslim travellers already trust.

Ask before you book

Strict certification needs, no alcohol onboard, prayer space, prayer times — tell us what matters for your trip when you enquire, and we'll factor it in before you confirm.

Booking

From enquiry to embarkation

No online checkout, no automated confirmations — just a short conversation with a team that checks the halal details before you pay anything.

01

Choose your journey

Browse The Taster, The Discovery or The Grand Voyage — and add a Wulong or Fuling day excursion if you'd like to extend your trip.

02

Send an enquiry

Tell us your travel dates, group size, and any dietary or accessibility needs — through the form below, WhatsApp, or email. Whichever's easiest for you.

03

We confirm & send a deposit invoice

Our team checks availability and confirms the halal arrangements for your dates, then sends a deposit invoice to secure your booking.

04

Travel with confidence

Settle the balance before departure, and we'll take care of the rest — pier transfers, briefings, and on-the-ground support throughout your trip.

Questions

Good to know before you enquire

A few things travellers often ask before reaching out. If yours isn't covered here, just ask — that's exactly what an enquiry is for.

Is halal really confirmed for every itinerary?

It depends on the journey, and we say so plainly. On The Discovery, halal (清真) meals are written into the operator's itinerary for every day of the cruise. On The Taster, halal breakfast and lunch are confirmed from Day 2 onward. On The Grand Voyage, halal dining isn't pre-printed on the menu, so our team arranges it directly with the operator ahead of your sailing and confirms it with you before you book.

How does booking and payment work?

After your enquiry, we confirm availability and halal arrangements, then send a deposit invoice to secure your spot — the balance is due before departure. We don't currently take card payments online; deposits and balances are settled by bank transfer, and we'll walk you through the details once your booking is confirmed.

Do I need a visa for China?

It depends on your nationality and how you're entering the country — some travellers can use visa-free transit policies, while others will need to apply in advance. Let us know your passport country when you enquire and we'll point you toward the right requirements for your trip.

Can I combine a cruise with the Wulong or Fuling excursions?

Yes — both Wulong Karst Wonders and the Fuling Heritage Trail are designed as full-day add-ons that slot neatly before or after The Taster or The Discovery. Mention it in your enquiry and we'll build it into your itinerary.

What if I have other dietary needs beyond halal?

Most additional needs — vegetarian, seafood or nut allergies, and so on — can usually be accommodated alongside halal requirements. Just let us know when you enquire, and we'll confirm what's possible for your specific itinerary before you book.
